Ceramic created in Nature
Today I present Sarah Pike, an artist passionate about ceramics, who has made of it her way of life. She works full time from her house in the middle of nature doing peculiar works with very personal stamp.
Her studies were carried out at the University of Minneapolis in Minnesota and then she returned to her native country, Canada, where she lives and works in a beautiful place, called Fernie BC. She lives near lakes and impressive mountains and her art is inspired in all that the nature around her offers her.
Her specialty are teapots, cups and jugs, and her technique is with clay plates and various seals, with which she prints interesting motifs on the pieces, which she then covers with matt enamel. She likes to have asymmetry and have noticed the hand of the artist behind each work. Nothing is in series, small imperfections are what make them stand out from the mass ceramic and that confer the artistic touch.
On her website and Instagram ( you can get there from the website) you can see more of her beautiful ceramic pieces www.sarahpikepottery.com
