Landscapes with colorful threads
The artist presented today is Rachel Wright from the United Kingdom, who is an expert in artistic embroidery, both by hand and by machine.
She studied fashion and textile art at the University of Birmingham before setting up her own business, where she presents and sells her interesting work all over the world.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions with other famous textile artists, as well as she exhibits in well-known art and craft fairs in England and Scotland.
Her landscapes and animals are meticulous and extraordinary works. With threads in vibrant colors she manages to give life to each of her paintings, because that is what it seems to be, paintings painted with threads.
She loves wide landscapes, boats, windmills and lighthouses. They are recurring motives, in addition to birds and bigger mammals. Nature is always omnipresent.
The most striking part of her textiles is usually the sky, to which she gives much prominence through curved lines and bright colors. You can see a selection below, as well as visit her website: https://rachelwright.com
I hope you like it, I love her work.
Last Saturday the illustrator artist Pat Southern-Pearce, also from England, was introduced.
