Nuestra artista presentada hoy se ha criado, vive y trabaja en Australia, pero es de origen holandes, Annemieke Mein. En los años 70 su trabajo se hizo muy conocido y fue consagrada como una de las artistas textiles mas famosas del mundo, recibiendo un importante premio en 1988.

Su arte se basa en recrear sobre lienzos textiles y en relieve los pequeños seres vivos de la naturaleza. Esos pajaritos, ranas, libélulas, mariposas y saltamontes están presentes en toda su obra, siempre minuciosamente detallados. Se nota que es amante de los pequeños detalles, los cuales borda con finas lineas y en los colores pardos de la naturaleza.

Embroidering Nature

Our present artist was raised in Australia and she lives and works there, but is of Dutch origin, Annemieke Mein. In the 1970s her work became known and she became one of the most famous textile artists in the world.

She creates the small creatures of nature on textile screens, often with embossing. These small birds, frogs, dragonflies, butterflies and grasshoppers are always present in their work, very carefully detailed. It is obvious that she is a lover of the little details, which she embroideres with fine lines and in the brown colours of nature.
