Die Künstlerin der Klassiker dieses Monats ist Berthe Morisot. Von französischer Nationalität lebte sie zwischen 1841 und 1895, als Zeitgenossin der Impressionisten, und nicht nur das, sie lebte und arbeitete auch mit ihnen als einzige Frau in der Gruppe.

Berthe stellte ihr brillantes Werk in den fortgeschrittensten und avantgardistischsten Ausstellungen aus und erntete zusammen mit den berühmtesten Männern die Kritik der Bourgeoisie, die die neue Form der Malerei lächerlich machten und die akademische Kunst als die einzige wahre Kunst verstanden und um jeden Preis verteidigten . Sie wussten derzeit noch nicht, dass die Ära der modernen Kunst gerade erst begonnen hatte.
