An diesem Samstag präsentiere ich Jos van Wunnik, Liebhaber von Wäldern und ruhigen Gewässern. Jos wurde 1951 geboren und verbringt sein ganzes Leben in Holland, zieht von hier nach dort in diesem kleinen Land und lässt sich schließlich in einem alten Bauernhaus in Schinwild nieder. Dort gibt er Kunstunterricht und kreiert weiterhin seine eigene Kunst.

Heute erkunden wir seine Facette als Fotograf, aber er ist auch Maler, und hier ist seine Palette viel bunter als in seinen ausdrucksstarken und magischen Fotografien. Bei einer nächsten Gelegenheit werde ich Sie dem Maler Jos van Wunnik näher bringen.

Heute habe ich eine Auswahl seiner Fotos vorbereitet, die die Natur seines Heimatlandes als Protagonisten haben. Oft wählt er Herbst- und Winterszenen, mit besonderen Lichterspielen, die ein mystisches Flair bereiten.

Auch das stagnierende Wasser oder der Schlamm spielen eine wichtige Rolle und er experimentiert ständig damit. Er selbst sagt von seiner Arbeit folgendes:

Die zentralen Themen in meinem ätherischen Werk sind "Licht" und "Wasser": Licht in der Natur, Licht in der Erde, Licht im Menschen und die Verschmelzung von all dem - das Leuchten und Reflektieren von Licht auf Wasser und Eis sowie die Resonanz von Licht im Innenraum - die miteinander verwobenen Rhythmen und Strömungen von Wasser und Licht in Lebensprozessen.

Mystic light

On this Saturday I present Jos van Wunnik, the photographer lover of forests and calm waters. Jos was born in 1951 and spends his entire life in Holland, moving in that small country from here to there, finally settling in Schinwild in an old farm house. There he teaches art classes and continues to create his own art.

Today we explore his facet as a photographer, but he is also a painter, and that is where his palette is much more colorful than in his expressive and magical photographs. On a next occasion I will bring you closer to the painter Jos van Wunnik.

Today I have prepared a selection of his photos that have the nature of his native country as his protagonist. Often he chooses scenes of autumn and winter, showing sublime play of lights, leaving mystical airs to the set.

Also the stagnant waters or the mud play an important role and he experiments with it constantly. He himself says of his work the following:

The central themes in my ethereal work are ’light’ and ‘water’: light in nature, light in earth, light in man, and the merging of all this — the glowing and reflecting of light on water and ice as well as the resonance of light in inner space — the interwoven rhythms and streaming cycles of water and light in life processes.
