Andy Cole ist ein Künstler der mit Holz arbeitet, und der seit 1980 auf der Insel Oahu in Hawaii lebt und dort ein Paradies gefunden hat, nicht nur wegen der Schönheit seiner Landschaften, sondern auch wegen des Materials für seine Kunst, nämlich die Bäume, die dort wachsen. Er ist bestrebt, die spektakulärsten Holzstücke zu finden, um wirklich schöne gedrehte Werke herzustellen.

Viele andere wollen, dass das Stück Holz perfekt ist, aber ihm ist es egal, ob es beschädigt, hohl oder fleckig ist. Es ist eine Herausforderung für ihn, ein schönes Gebrauchsstück daraus zu erschaffen, dass die Natur in ihrer Essenz zeigt.

Eine seiner Spezialitäten sind die Nestschalen, die aus demselben Holzstamm hervorgehen und die alle dieselbe Maserung zeigen.

Andy Cole is a wood artist, who has been living since 1980 on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, where he has found a paradise, not only for the beauty of its landscapes but also for the material for his art, which are the timbers that grow there.
