Judith Baker Montano wird an diesem Samstag als Künstlerin der Woche vorgestellt. Sie ist eine international anerkannte Textilkünstlerin aus Kanada.

Sie wurde geboren und lebte ihre Kindheit an einem sehr schönen Ort, den Ausläufern der Hügel von Alberta in Kanada. Als Kind wuchs sie in der Tradition des Nähens und der Kunst auf und wurde von ihrer Mutter und Großmutter unterrichtet, die beide ebenso Textilkünstlerinnen waren. Der ethnische Einfluss kommt daher, dass sie die Indianerinnen aus dem nahe gelegenen Reservat sehr genau beobachtet hat.

Ihr Studium konzentrierte sich auf Kunst und Journalismus, aber sie widmete ihr ganzes Leben dem Ersten, d.h. der Kunst. Immer experimentierend mit Materialien, edlen Stoffen, lebendigen Farben und Perlen, kreierte sie das sogenannte "Crazy Quilting".

Nachdem sie an vielen Ausstellungen in ihrer Heimat Kanada und im Ausland teilgenommen hat und viele Bücher geschrieben und viele Stunden als Lehrerin hinter sich hat, ist ihr Name heute ein Synonym für eine große Textilkünstlerin. Judith Baker Montano is presented this Saturday as the artist of the week. She is an internationally recognized textile artist from Canada.

She was born and lived her childhood in a very beautiful place, the foothills of Alberta in Canada. As a child she grew up in the tradition of sewing and art, taught by her mother and grandmother, both textile artists as well. The ethnic influence comes because she observed very much the Indian women from the nearby reserve.

Her studies focused on art and journalism, but she devoted her whole life to the first, that is, to art. Always experimenting with materials, rich fabrics, vibrant colors and beads, she created the so called "Crazy Quilting.

Having participated in many exhibitions, both in her native Canada and internationally, having written many books and many hours of teaching behind her back, today her name is synonymous of a great textile artist. On her website you can see more of her career https://www.judithbakermontano.com
